Abnormal EEG in 3 yr old

Abnormal EEG in 3 yr old

My son was sent for an EEG after a diagnose of Autism. The only signs he really displays in a delay in langauge and social skills.
The EEG came back abnormal and he is being sent for an MRI. However the doctor didnt explain things to me well at all.
It says
"this EEG shows a mild slow wave excess arising from the right central parietal head region suggestive of a region focal cortical dysfunction. Although some sharp transients were seen they were not clearly epileptic in nature."

Anyone have any idea what this means!!! Could this be the cause of the language delay? Are they thinking tumour or something? I have to wait over a month to get him into the MRI and I am a wreck worrying.
Thanks!!!
