Dear Edward:
Sorry to hear about your osteomylitis.  This is an infection of the bone, and in your case, multiple sites of infection.  Bacterial infection is the most common but most any agent can cause osteomylitis.  The usual therapy is to rid the body of the pathogen.  If the bone is severely infected then the bone has to be worked on to rid it of the infection (such as scrapping, drilling, or even removing if too severe).  This usually requires long term antibiotics and surgery if bad enough.  How one recovers depends on the immunological state of the individual, the causal agent, and where the sites of infection are located.  I hope that things work out for the best.
Sincerely,
CCF Neuro[P] MD
