I have had 11 knee surgeries on one knee since 1982. I have had pattelor tendon transfers, retinacular release, knee shaves, numerous arthroscopic procedures
a patellectomy. (and a staple removed that was left in for 6 years following one of my tendon transfers)
My problems continue. I was told that the tendon transfer that resulted in the staple being left in, was too restrictive, causing my kneecap to degenerate. This is apparently why my kneecap had to be taken out.
I cannot do ANYTHING!! My knee is constantly sore and swollen, and I am tired of taking pain medication. My current ortho says there is nothing else he can do. I can't accept that. There MUST be something that can be done!!
I am desperate for answers, and relief. I want my life back. I used to be active, now I can't do hardly anything.
