After a stroke, affected side feels burning sensation to slight touch.

I'm a 45 year old male that was taken to the hospital Aug, 2010  with BP 214/200. My kidneys completely failed and I was put on  Dialysis. while this was happening I had a stroke. was also found to have picked up a Staph infection in the bloood. My question is this; The right side of my head and left side of my body was affected from the stroke. On these affected sides I don't feel hot or cold or the tip of a sharp needle touching the skin.I can feel the touch just not the little pin *****, It seems dull. On the left side of my body though a simple touch or brush of the hand causes (for lack of better description) a burning and tingling sensation that is like all most unbearable. Trying to sleep is difficult because, As the sheet or blanket touches the skin it is very uncomfortable. Also wearing a sock on the left foot seems to help at least with the foot. Is there some explanition to this and is there a way to stop it?
