Als/twitching

I have been twitching in my whole body for over two years.I have not had any weakness.  does this sound like it could be the beginning of als?   also, i have days that are fairly twitch free and oother days when I twich pretty bad.  do als paiptients have days that fluctuate so?    Or do their twitches progress fairly rapidly and gewt worse and worse day by day?  Please tell me if this sounds like als.

The twitching you describe may be a phenomenon called fasiculation.
Fasiculation is one of the symptoms of ALS but it is also found in normal
people especially after exercise  and in a harmless condition  called
benign fasiculations.
The key way to differentiate between the two disorders is that weakness develops rapidly
with ALS and if this has been obvious for two years you should probably be very weak at this stage
and would possibly have problems with cramps, spasms , speech and
swallowing.
The best way to clarify this completely and put ypur mind at rest would be
to have an EMG examination which I suspect would completely outrule ALS in
your case.
