Am I crazy?

Am I crazy?

I am a 39 old female and started having some very strange and random pains a couple of weeks ago.  On the right side of my neck I am experiencing shooting pain.  The first time it happened I just thought I had strained my neck some way.  But, it continues to happen a couple of times per day and moves around a bit, but always seems to be on the right side.  Tonight it starts right on top of my collar bone and shoots straight up my neck to my jawline.  It is a very strange sensation and makes me feel like I need to clear my throat or burp somehow, but at the same time feels a little like I can't breathe.  (That may be anxiety)  Anyway, I have an extremely high threshold for pain and very rarely go to the doctor, but this kind of has me freaking out.

Hi,

Apart from stress and anxiety there can be other causes for your symptoms which need to be looked into like nerve compression in the cervical region due to disc herniation, prolapse or cervical stenosis and peripheral neuropathy due to diabetes, B 12 deficiency and thyroid dysfunction.
I would suggest you to get a clinical exam done along with tests like X ray of the cervical spine.

Thanks
