Aneurysm or basilar artery tip

Initially diagnosed with Menier's syndome, my wife's request for a second opinion has resulted in a CAT scan showing a prominence and possible Aneurysm of the basilar artery tip.  What procedures are recommended for this?  What cautions should be taken?  What outcome can be projected?

Dear Mr. Choffin:
Your wife may have a serious condition if she truly has a basilar tip
aneurysm. These lesions as you may or may not know are prone to rupturing
which can result in a intracranial bleed leading to serious neulogical injury.
I urge you to have your wife seen by a neurosurgeon as soon as possible.
She will need to undergo an angiogram to delineate the blood vessels in her
head. This should preferably be done before she sees a neurosurgeon.
If she truly has an aneurysm, there are treatment options available,
including surgery which is the most definitiv treatment. Your
surgeon's recommendation will depend on what the angiogram will show.
Once again, I strongly encourage you to have her seen as soon as possible.
If you have any other questions pleas do not hesitate to write back!
Good Luck!
