I was diagnosed with small fiber
sensoryNumbness and tingling neuropathy. I have had every conceivable test done and all have come back negative. The ony test I haven't got back yet is the Anti Mag test. My doctor said if that is positive that there is some kind of treatment. Do you have any idea what that treatment is.?
Also, I was told that B12 shots can be helpful even if your B12 is
normalNormal saline flush.
Can you let me know about these two things please! Thanks

A number of theraputic alternatives have been tried with success in MAG
associated neuropathy, the main lines of treatment have been aimed at removing
abnormal antibodies fron the

Serum calcium
Serum globulin electrophoresis
Serum iron
Serum ketones
Serum phosphorus
Serum progesterone
Serum serotonin level
Sodium - blood by means of :
(1 )Plasmapheresis which filters antibodies from the blood.

Intravenous pyelogram
Intravenous pyelogram (ivp) preparationPreparation h hydrocortisone of pooled human
antibodies which bind to and inactivate the antibodies causing the
neuropathy.
(3) Interferon injections which modify the activity of the immune system,
thereby redcuing the intensity of the immune mediated attack on the
peripheral nerve myelin.
There are some reports that B12 injections help neuropathy in the absence of
documneted deficiency. If no other options are coming up I would suggest
you try it, since it is a supplement of a normal substance and has no side
effects and therefore you havve nothing to lose.
Reports of success are sporadic and unpredictable but it is certainly
worth trying.
