Hi,
I am almost 71 years old and I have had neck and back pain for many years which has put me on heavy pain killers.  About 8 weeks ago I was in a shower slipped and fell and hit my head very hard right on the top of the head, and thinking back I think it drove my spine into my neck.  There was a little blood when I put ice on my head, but what I remember was my neck was real stiff after-wards.  The pain passed after a while and it stopped bleeding.  I figured I just have a hard head and I haven't had any problems with coordination or any stronger pain until now.  I can still think, type, or do anything I could before, but the pain is starting to get to me.  Other than the regular pain that I have lived with for years, I don't know what to do.
Maybe many of you reading this message can't understand why I have waited this long, but like I said, I have had neck and back pain for years, and it's very hard to distinguish the difference between one or another pain, or where it came from.
The pain now in my neck is becoming unbearable and I need to do something before I loose my mind.  I have been on very strong drugs, and they are not working very well anymore.  They could be working, but I am afraid to stop taking them because I can't imagine what might happen if I did.  What can anyone out there recommend, besides putting a gun to my head and pulling the trigger?
