Any statistical link to Amalgum fillings?

Is there any statistical link to Amalgum fillings and neurological disorders?  I have read stories of people diagnosed with ALS, MS, MMN, etc., that improved dramatically after haveing amalgum fillings removed.  I have also read that there is no correlation to amalgum and and disorder whatsoever.  I am a "Possible ALS" diagnosis. (symptoms - hyper reflexes, fasciculations, weakness (about a 3-), some atrophy, EMG denervation - test results and symptoms are positive in one arm only.)
I would get my 4 amalgum fillings removed in a heartbeat if I KNEW it would help.  But its very pricy and I don't want to waste money that I may need for other things down the road if indeed I move from "possible" to "absolutely".
