Arachnoid cyst - help me please :)

I have an arachnoid cysts that I only just found out about. "small left anterior temporal arachnoid cyst".  It was meant to be a CT scan to "rule" out anything as I was just diagnosed with OCD, but this has been found.I cant get in to see my doctor for some time and I am concerned. My questions are as follows:-
Will it grow? Do they all grow?
Could it be causing my OCD?
What is my life expectancy?
Will my doctor refer me to Nuerologist?
Could it be anything else?
Why didnt my doctor contact me?
What is considered a "small" arachnoid cyst?

Thank you so much for your information. It is very much appreciated!
My OCD is not always controlled with medicines. I am on and off SSRI's depending on how bad it effects me :) At present I am taking Citalopram, however, it doesn't help a lot with the OCD just the associated anxiety! Luvox helps a lot with the OCD, but I hate taking it as I do not feel like "me", so hence am happy just to be able to manage the anxiety which helps me "fight" the OCD using CBT.

Again, thank you for your answer.

Leish :)

Hello.

The arachnoid cyst is a pocket of fluid collection in the arachnoid mater (one of the covering membranes which enclose the brain). Your arachnoid cyst looks benign. It is not responsible for your OCD. The arachnoid cysts are usually not problematic. In a lot of patients, they do not grow, and hence, do not produce symptoms. Yours is a small cyst. It is most probably clinically insignificant and does not have any impact on the quality of life. Your doctor probably didn't contact you for these reasons only.

How is your OCD? Is it controlled with medicines?

Regards
