Arachnoiditis?

I had A microdiscectomy 4 months ago. I now have burning pain in my butt and legs, also in the genital area. Its worse after activity. Could this be A. Or could this be healing which may get better with time?

Dear Mike,
arachnoiditis tend to involve both sensory and motor components, so in addition to sensory problems one tends to get motory symptoms, such as weakness (knee buckling, foot drop, toe cathing, etc.).
Bowel and bladder functions may be affected. Your doctor may order an MRI or a myelogram to look for evidence of arachnoiditis, the spinal roots would be in clumps instead of nice and thin separately. I hope this helps. If the problem persists, you should seek an evaluation so that serious etiology can be ruled out or treated.
