Are Pregabalin side-effects permanent?

I'm 21 and male. I was having arm pains which was caused by neck pain for bad posture on computer desk. So I went to the GP (general medicine) and he said the pain is for the neck, and it will go away and asked me to do some static neck exercise and swimming and prescribed 'Pregabalin m-75' to take for 1 month and stop. I just took the first dose yesterday night, and waking up I'm already feeling the side effects like dizziness, irritated mood, lack of libido and it is taking long to get an erection. I have a high libido by default but I'm not feeling it anymore this morning. I read pregabalin causes this. Is this permanent? I'm only 21...
I also read it causes brain tumor - that's scary... and I read I must not stop this medicine unless doctor says. So I'm kinda trapped here and I don't want to loose my libido. Neck pain is better than losing libido. Are those effects permanent? What should I do?
The doctor must be aware of those side effects and still suggested to a 21year old - I guess he thought the best but I don't want these problems for my whole life or to take meds to maintain my libido rather than getting it back.

The side effects you are mentioning are not permanent. With as many medications as I give out on a daily basis, I have never seen someone experience a side effect from the first dose (exception of allergic reaction)- I think that maybe you are overly focused on the possible side effects and it has cause a "self-fulfilling prophecy"- our minds are powerful things, they can make us imagine some pretty convincing things- my advice: take the medication and let it work. Relax about the side effects unless something intolerable or dangerous comes up- but that is unlikely.

Sure no problem. It's totally understandable  to be be worried about starting a new medication. Just try to relax, trust your health care provider- and if you do truly start developing some unwanted side effects then you can have that talk with your doctor.  :-)

I see. Well I have no problem if I get back to normal totally after the course is over. Just I read horrifying things about pregabalin on net...
Thanks for replying.
