Hi everyone. Towards the beginning of January, I started to get these quick fleeting pains running down my left shoulder blade. Would only last a second or two, but would recur. Also, at some point in December, I cracked my neck to the left, and felt a sharp shooting pain go down the neck into my upper back, was sore for a couple of days after, then felt normal. I do crack my neck a lot, and never felt that before ( I know not good to do). Anyways, saw my MD for the shoulder blade, he said he felt muscle tension, told me from my anxiety, to relax, and sent me home. I went on a cruise the following week. Second day on the trip, started getting left arm discomfort....in random spots at random times and never all at once. Left elbow would ache, another time would be left forearm, sometimes left wrist and some of the fingers. I got scared and got checked out on the boat, had an EKG, normal. Shoulder blade pain had basically went away. When I got home, shoulder blade pain was back, still fleeting and random, along with the left arm stuff. Went back to my MD, felt my left upper back, said he felt a trigger point, said that can refer pain to my arm like that. Since then I have been to an Urgi Care, and an ER, had two more EKG's, and both were normal as well. I am 27 year old female. No health history but anxiety/depression. I was scared this was heart related, but have had 3 normal EKG's, and my MD said it is not my heart ( I hope he is right!). I have asked on the cardio forum, got some good info, thought maybe I could ask neurology? I will have a few days where I feel no twinges of pain anywhere, then usually after 2 or 3 days it comes back. Never lasts long, the pains are quick, but are achy in the left elbow, forearm, wrist, fingers, and not all together either. It doesn't radiate down the arm...one day it will be the elbow, another day the forearm. Not really "numb" or "weak", but sometimes the lower arm feels like a dead feeling, maybe a little numb.
Is this really trigger points doing all of this? I told my MD about the incident with cracking my neck and he said he didn't think it was anything and didn't want to order any scans or xrays. Hmmmppphhhh.....does anyone think cracking my neck could have done something? Does it sound like an injury? sorry so long please help!
