Attrophy of adductor muscles

I have been diagnosed (through physical observance and pin pricking) by a neurologist with the loss of adductor muscles as a result of a prior abdominal surgery (i.e. a miomectomy).  I have been exercising 2-3 hours daily for the last six months and, although I have seen some help in the surrounding muscles, I am still experiencing severe numbness and pain in the adductor muscles.  At times it feels like my leg wants to detach itself from my body.  I have been told that exercise is the best way to solve the problem, despite an estimated loss of 50% or more of the original muscles.    

My question is whether, if exercise continues to not solve the problem, there are any other potential solutions for helping me gain sufficient strength back in my leg to walk normally?  I have seen some references to the use of steroids for some muscle injuries.  I have also seen some references on line to testing on muscle transplants but nothing concrete.

The most natural way to make yourself normal is sheer hard work and motivation and exercise. The Neurologist always wants to solve the adductor problem in a conservative way. You should try to understand that by Physiotherapy your muscles will get stronger and will take some function. If this does not work and for longterm your neurologist can only refer to you to an Orthopaedician/neurosurgeon for some grafts. Take care and try to solve your problem in a conservative way!
