Aura Headaches

I've been getting Aura headaches since I was in 6th grade, and I am now 20 years old. I've been to neurologists and had many tests done. MRI, MRA, CT Scan, EEG, and god knows what else. Luckily for me, its just migraines. I feel like there arent a lot of people who suffer from this. Does anyone else get symptoms like this?

Lights, zigzags, loss of vision, which lasts for 20-60 minutes, irritability, and the worst migraine ever known to man.

After that, I feel completely out of it. Like nothing is really happening, almost like a panic attack (which I also suffer from), dizziness, in a cloud, and just out of it.

When I saw my first Dr., they thought I was making it all up. I'm glad that these headaches are now surfacing and taken seriously, but what can we do?

I was told I can be put on anti seizure medication, but since I have a heart condition, I'm very limited on what I can take.

I am not up to taking botox injections into my eye balls lol.

There is one medication called "Verapamil", which I have yet to be put on.

anyone know any more about these headaches? Anyone who can relate? Please share your stories!

Also, Anyone know about foods and stress, and if it affects the headaches?

Thanks!

I have had them before as well; they started at the beginning of this year; scared me awful, especially the zigzag pattern.  When I was having an episode, I was talking with my husband and then all of a sudden his face was full of zigzags; freaked me out.  It lasted for about 1-2 minutes maybe.  I have had the zigzag pattern once and the other times my central vision goes to a black circle.

I notice certain things in my diet would trigger them, i.e. too much caffeine, sugar or chocolate.  Can you imagine living in Paris and can't eat the chocolate?

The episodes have not been frequent enough for me to be medicated.  My CT, MRI and EEG came back clean as well.  Also, nothing significant with my eyes, except near-sighted, but I will be 40 this year, so, that is to be expected I think.
