Autism & seizures

If I as a teen suffered from migraine onset seizures, could this make Autism related seizures more likley in my son?

Hello.

Almost 15% of children with autism are expected to have seizures, without their parents having to have a history of seizures themselves. If you had epilepsy, it automatically raises your children's risk of having seizures. But you should be absolutely sure that what you had were seizures and not the aura and associated symptoms of migraine.

Overall, your son has slightly more chance of getting seizures than other autistic children.

How old is he? When was he diagnosed to have autism?

My son Colin is 3. We have just set up multiple appointments and screenings (A pediatric Neurologist, a behavioral development  specialest, and the Town's pre school for a SPED Plan) to get on the road to a diagnosis. With out the propper diagnosis Colin may not get all the help he needs, and I am not about to let that happen.
