B12 Shots

by Hanford, Oct 19, 2007 07:16PM
When my mother received a higher dose of B12 from a fill in doctor, her memory and other dementia symptoms improved drasticly.  But her regular doctor refused to continue with the increased dosage.  She had Pernicious Anemia.
Is there a limited dosage of B12 ?

I just started taking a B12 called MethylCobalamin for nerve rejuvenation. Look at my posting under "extreme burning" from I think Oct. 18 or 19 2007. I went through pure hell with excruciating burning in my thighs. The reason I mention this is cause of my desperate attempt to make sure it never happens again. How does this affect your mother? Well, in doing some reading on this form of B12 (which you can only buy online from what I've discovered) I've learned that it has been very encouraging for patients even with alsheimers disease in memory and communicating with others. I've read nothing but good things about MethylCobalamin which if I read correctly is what our bodies turn B12 from off the shelves in the stores into. The problem is that by the time our bodies turn it to thr "Methyl" form its in very small amounts and we really need more. I just started this week after reading about it as well as my son who has had (4) surgeries to his ankle with the last two from nerve issues associated with the first surgery. I purchased the "5mg." dose 120 tablets cherry flavor you desolve under your tongue (about $35.00) for a three month supply not too bad, but if you look at the B12 in the stores they are not "Methyl" as it turns to methyl in your body and the dose is very small 1,000 "mcg" not "mg". I'm not a doctor but I do reccomend you look up this form of B12 online, you'll find it very interesting as I did. Good luck to your mom.
