B12

I  just varified the lab tests again for B12/Folic Acid Screen.  The B12 actually showed 300 while the Folic Acid showed 15.0  What does it mean when your Folic Acid is high?. Does it mask the right reading of a B12 correct level? I know one effects the other but not how?   Could this possibly be what has caused my Polysensory Neuropathy, and could B12 injections aid or reverse this type of neuropathy that has now gone on 4 months.  Thank you.
Dear Ridgway  ,
A B12 level of between 200-300 pg/ml is considered low normal
and in these cases, levels of homocysteine and methylmalonic acid,
precursors of B12 dependent reactions are helpful.
They are frequently elevated which indicate B12 deficiency.
Vit B12 injection  then should be instituted and in most cases
it needs to be continued for life (monthly).
Your folic acid level is fine and folic acid deficiency can cause
anemia (low hemoglobin) but has not been proven to cause neurologic
problem.
Good luck.
