Back pain might be degenerative disk disease?

Hello! I have back pain for a long time. I was on vacation out of the states when I feel this pain and weird feeling on my right hip all the way down to my leg. I see a doctor . I had MRI done. Since I don't have time I just got the result and flew to USA.
My result----Mild degenerative lumbar spondylisis causing to L4-5, L5-s1 small broad based posterior central disc protrusion causing to mild central canal stenoisis and mild bilateral neural forminal stenoisi
Please! help me to understand it and I love to know suggestion in what to do until my dr apt day. I am 40, is aging the cause?
