Bell Palsy and gastroparesis link?

Hi,
I recently was diagnosed with Bell Palsy but have also had bouts of gastroparesis in the last few years.  I feel like I may even be starting on yet another one.  It seems to me that both are neurological disorders of some kind and want to see if anyone has some insight or recommendations.

My daughter has gastroparesis. Reglan helped but gave her 'lip movements'. Can you tell me what you use for gastroparesis? Sorry I don't know about Bell Palsy. Google it...see a neurologist or two....or three. And my best to you.

I had bell's palsy about two years ago, and was just diagnosed with GP about a week ago. My bell's palsy has cleared up completely, and I am hoping the same will happen with GP. To be honest I would rather have BP than GP. I am not a doctor, but I think that a link between the two is a resonable thought. BP is thought to be caused by a virus that attacks the 8th or 9th cranial nerve (cant remember the number). We each have two vagus nerves (also cranial nerves) that control motility of the muscles in the stomach. I think that it is reasonable that the dormant virus that causes BP could attack a different cranial nerve such as the vagus nerve. Both are very rare so research is difficult to come by, but if I am correct, my GP should resolve after the nerve repairs (assuming it is not overly damaged). Did you BP ever resolve or do you still have facial paralysis?
