Blank spot in front of eyes

I am not sure if relates to Neurology or eyes alone so I have posted on both forums.  This question relates to my partner.   He was telling me that last night at work he was trying to read something and there was a blank spot in the middle of what he was reading.  He said that he could see with his peripheral vision, but it was blank when he looked forward.  He also said that he felt dizzy.  He does wear glasses and said that it did not make a difference if he took his glasses off or had them on.

Hello.

Does he suffer from Migraine? The visual experience that he had could be the aura of migraine. Classically, the aura involves a visual spot which starts in the centre of vision and moves peripherally.

If he does not have a history of migraine, this could have been the first episode. Initial few episodes come without headache.

Please get and ophthalmologist's opinion.

Regards
