Hi...I should think nothing bad....when I had my daughter I was given an epidural....u must lie flat for over an hour afterward and in recovery some student nurse came and pulled me into a sitting position...I quickly laid back down, however the damage was done and I had the headaches.....for 5 days...very bad, nasuesa, ate lying down bad.

ne way, if on the 5th day I still had a headache, they were going to inject blood into the SC.Back then they did not use the patients blood and testing on blood was not done....lucky for me on the 5th day...the headache was gone.....later that yr they found donated blood with HIV.....and since they test donated blood b4 using it.

So, I may b wrong, but because of this I think u should b ok.....did ur dr indicate something other than that?

I also know they use the patients blood to create blood patch to "fix" a CSF leak! Not sure exactly how, and where, but again I believe ur system would just absorb the blood.

Please let us know if u find out differently!!

Good luck
Godspeed

yes, the patch is put in the epidural space, outside of the actual spinal column, but what if it was injected directly into the CSF?
