I have an appointment with an opthomologist in a months time but have a few questions: 1) Should I be concerned? and 2) What are these typical symptoms of? I am an active 22 year old

The problems you describe are not very specific for any definite neurological syndrome , since like in many neurological intermittent symptoms frequently do not signify serious underlying disease.
For example a brain tumor or stroke is either there or not, it causes symptoms which will not go away unless the underlying cause is removed. I thinkmit is a good idea to have this checked out but there is probably no great reason for concern.

I think an evaluation by an opthalmologist ( rather than an neurologist ) is a good idea but these symptoms do not suggest a serious underlying neurological disorder to me.
