Body Numbness

I have been experiencing numbness thoughtout my intire body. Sometimes it would be my legs or feet. Sometimes my hand or arms, and sometime my whole body. However I get this over whelming numbness over my whole body at night, which wakes me up, and take sometime to go away. I have had blood workup that all came back normal. The Neuro has had me have some test, such as a Trancrannel Dopples ultra sound which was normal. I have also gotten a MRI, still waiting. I also had a EEG, and still waiting for that. Latly I have also gotten twitching in my calves, sometime I feel like someone is sticking me with a pin in my legs and back. I will let you know my results when I get them, but what other test might you suggest.

I went to the doctor yesterday, who told me that My MRI was norman. I was in the Hosptial last year with a 104 fever, and at that time I had all sorts of testing, such as CT, CAT scan, they said it was probably caused by a virus . I was tested the for Lymes disease and again in Jan. along with a thyriod checkup. My Doctor tell me that I don't have MS or any other autoimmune disease. I am still waiting for the EEG. I thank you for your response. My Doctor also said he dose not want to get me anything for stress or anxiety until all other possible problem have been ruled out.

Hi,

Body numbness can occur due to many causes like MS, anxiety, lymes disease, chronic fatigue syndrome, and fibromyalgia and peripheral neuropathy.
You can discuss the possibility of getting a test for lymes disease and thyroid dysfunction done because both these conditions can cause whole body numbness.

Hope this helps!
