Brachial Neuritis

by Kaygen, Sep 14, 2007 02:20PM
I have had unilateral pain in my mid back (C5-C7) for over 7 years, that goes over my deltoid into my shoulder and neck and also down my arm.  There was significant atrophy and weakness of my tricep and chest (this atrophy has occurred 4 times in the 7 year period).  Three EMG's and slow re-growth of the muscle (after each occurrence) has shown that it is not a motor neuron disease.  However, it is a recurring problem.  Recently, the pain has become bilateral and I am beginning to experience the same symptoms on my left side as I did on my right.  I am now getting headaches (I usually do not have headaches) and am feeling nausea and very tired along with the other pain symptoms.  Older MRI's did not show any lesions in or on my spine, however,  I do have a mild C7 herniation, but the neurologist say that it would not cause the chest atrophy.  Does this sound like brachial plexus/neuritis issue?  Is it possible to have headaches, be tired and nauseated with this disorder to the point that it is hard to concentrate?  If not a brachial plexus issue, then what could it be?  Your thoughts and time are greatly appreciated.
