Brain Cyst

by littlefry16, Jan 02, 2009 12:52PM
Hi I was diagnosed with a brain cyst by my GP, she said that I probably had it since birth. She didn't really do much explaining except that it wasn't anything serious and wasn't the cause of my daily headaches. She had an MRI done on me which came out fine. I was just wondering, I have been getting my headaches back again quite often, and I was wondering if these cysts can grow?

I to have been diagnosed with a brain cyst my dr found on a ct scan after i complained of headaches for years. He told me to come back next year and he will do another ct scan.  I dont want to wait a year .
I was told to see a neurologist which i cant afford (no health insurance)
If u can see a neurologist/neurosurgeon  you will get more answers.

My partner had headaches for yrs and finally he went to the GP and was sent to hospital, and after 2 months he had an operation 2 yrs ago to drain a very large cyst thats attached to the brain and inner left ear. he had check ups every 6 months. this time its filled back up and he's due for another operation to remove all of it, but the only way it can be removed is cut his inner ear away, which will leave him deaf in his left ear. hoping all will go well as his operation in due July or August 2009.

Hi, I am a 15 year old who has the similar situation. I started getting numb on my ear, then the next day my face, and by night, my entire body. A doctor said it was either Bells Palsy or Lyme, but Lyme came back negative. So BP it was. Well, I started not being able to sleep and intense headaches started occurring. I went to a Neurologist and had a few tests done to check for other issues, they came back normal. I went to my specialist doctor for my Crohn's disease and he said it's not BP, but he wasn't sure what it was. An MRI was scheduled, and they are "assuming" that the strange growth in my brain is a cyst. They are not yet positive, but I have to go for a CAT scan this Wednesday to get it checked out. I've been losing concentration and can't focus and am nearly passing out now from lack of sleep. I don't know what will be happening, especially if it is something else, such as a brain tumor. I'm worried about this issue a bit, and am just wondering what happens if it's found out to be a cyst and it's fairly serious. Thanks.
