Brain Injury

My cousin drove her car into a ditch and now has symptoms of a Brain Injury, she has memory loss of people and events, ringing in her ears, some visual disturbances , and has lost the use of her left leg. She has a history of seizures i am wondering if her symptoms could be caused from a seizure and not from hitting her head. I am wondering this just because we can not tell if she hit her head, there are no marks on her head.

How long since the accident?...what medical treatment was administered?....she should seeeither a neurologist or a neurosurgeon.
Does she have a history of seizures?

keep us posted .

Good luck

Head injuries are very serious I finding out. My 18 yr. son fell and hit  his head the doctor found no injuries, but said 2 years down the road he may have problems. He also wants me to have him checked out why he fell. A week later on the 28th My step daughter was in a car accident where she ended up with Trauma Head Injury.  Altough she is coming along fine, still having problems with people and working her right side it's only been three weeks.  We are studing what is going on so we can try to help her. And even if she comes back to normal self she will probably have some kinda problem. So if you havent seen a docter for test you really should.

Old post but in having a cousin who had a severe TBI from a car accident I will comment. A traumatic brain injury can affect all aspects of the brain, depending on what part of the brain was impacted on and seizures that require life time treatment can be a part of it. Diagnosis of all aspects of what happenned, treatment and rehabilitation and accomodations, supports and services are neccessary. It would be essential to see a neurologist and for further information as regarding supports and services contact an agency such as the Brain Injury Association.
