Brain MRI, black holes

What can cause black holes on brain MRIs other than MS? lacunar infarcts is all I can find.....Any answers greatly appreciated.

Hi there. Other causes of white spots on brain MRI are tumor, infection, vascular insult, migraines, small vessel ischemic disease and multiple sclerosis. Other demyelinating disease are, leukodystrophies, central pontine myelinosis and progressive multifocal leukoencephalopathy. hope this helps. Consult a neurologist for evaluation. Take care.
