: Yes your response helped tremendously.   I feel I have almost reached a point where everything is fitting into place.
As I see my questions/comments posted on the neuro forum, I feel badly that I have taken up so much time.    Then a good thought came to me.   When mother had her brain stem hemorrhage, I could find no definitive information on the internet and no information easily and simply explained in the hospital's medical library.  When Iasked medical personnel about this lack of information, they kindly replied this was because people with brain stem  bleed usually never leave the hospital or nursing home.
Our questions/responses will certainly  help someone in the future deal with a situation such as this one.    As in most traumatic situations, family members/survivors usually do not think of all the right questions until attending medical personnel are no longer available.  If one person feels more informed and understands brain stem hemorrhage after reading this forum, then the forum has fulfilled its purpose.
I will more than likely have  final question or two more in a few days.  In the meantime,  thank you-thank you-thank you.      Again, any responses  are for personal/general med info only.

I am happy to help. One of the best parts of my job is helping people understand their illness, even if we have no way of making someone better. CCF MD mdf.
