Brain stem lesion

by sprigit, Apr 24, 2009 10:39PM
I recently had a MRI done to determine the cause of severe back of the head & neck pain that suddenly started 3/09.  In which I also experienced numbness & tingling of my fingers on my right hand and the right side of my lips. I also had dizziness and unsteadiness when standing & walking at first.  The first MRI done w/o contrast showed something but was unclear. The second MRI done with and without contrast indicates a brain stem lesion 4-5mm diameter in size. the report says abnormal intra-axial signal focus with the right pons with decreased signal on T1-weighting and increased signal T2 weighting.  Could you tell me what this means and what is done to treat such a diagnoses?

Thank You
