Brian Injury

My boyfriend of 5 years is suffering from a TBI from being hit by a car at 65+ mph.  He currently is in a Rehab center undergoing long term treatment.

He had a swallow test done about 3-4 weeks ago and I was able to see this in real time.  I did not notice (at that time) a soft pallett tremor.

Q. Would that have been seen on the swallow testing. Would we have been able to see this issue at that time?

Q. How likely is it that Risperdal would be the cause of this?

Q. How long should I be patient, and advocate a Nuroligist to look at this problem?  and Why is a ENT, and Phyc doctor determining this kind of medication and dosage amount if they feel the Risperdal maybe the cause?

They have reduced the amount of Risperdal, but I am seeing no change in the tremors.  Risperdal was reduce approximatley 2 weeks ago.

Q. Is this not a serious issue that should be address immediately by a nurologist?

Q.  If the tremors are caused by the brain stem, is there an alternative medication to stop this from happening.

Thank you and hope you can help.

Sue
