Bulging Disc

I was injured on the job in Oct this yr  After seeing the workers comp Dr. he prescribed pain meds and muscle relaxers and return in 14 days ... Upon returning back with no change to me he recommends an MRI this is scheduled and with more meds then return in 21 days. MRI done and shows 3 bulging disc from L3 to S1 with largest bulge on L4 and putting lots of pressure on the sciatica nerve, surgery an option was the read results. Upon seeing the Dr. now again he recommends an Epidural injection. ... come back in 7 days SAIF rejects Epidural sends me at an  appointment to see a IME if refused claim is closed. I drove the 4 hours to meet the IME we go through everything I had that pertained to my health records since the 6yh grade this took almost 1hr and 45min he did a 10 min exam and I was to drive now 4 hours back home. The trip killed me so bad I had to miss work the next day ( hurting ) three days later receive a letter from SAIF stating the IME diagnoses is low back strain WTH ? really ? He didn't even have the MRI information? What do I do now / Any suggestions ? Help Mikal

First off, the "workman's comp" doctor is not your friend. His job is to make sure you have no claim against the insurance company. In most states you can see any physician you want and bill it to workman's comp. I recommend you go to Dr. Jerome Groopman's website and read his article "A Knife in the back", which addresses issues of sciatica secondary to disc compression.
