Burning sensation around mouth and jawline

by Cheryl__0__0, Apr 21, 1998 12:00AM

I have been experiencing a burning sensation aroung my mouth and jawline for a few weeks no.
This feeling sometimes ranges from a burning to very cold feeling.  I used to experience a tingling
in the top of my head as well.  I have had an MRI, which came back normal.
I recently had a complete a series of blood work.  My Sed Rate was high for the nonspecific test
so I returned for a blood test for ANA and Rheumatoid Factors.  These also came back normal.  But I am
  still experiencing these sensations.
The blood work was ordered by my GP. The MRI by my Internalist.  I have not gone to a neurologist, but I am
tired of this feeling.  Can you offer any advice that I can perhaps take to a neurologist?

Dear Cheryl:
Your problem can be attributed to many things including neurological disorders (such as trigeminal neuralgia atypical, MS, etc......) or it may simply be related to a problem with your teeth. I think a reasonnable starting point would be to see your dentist first. If this does not help then you may wish to see a neurologist.
Good Luck!
