I have read multiple posts about this and have also read about the Mortons condition, but I think mine is different. On occasion such as last night, I was awoke by a stabbing pain on the top of my right foot. I refer to these as "labor pains" because you can feel the jolt coming on and it lasts for a couple of seconds then subsides. It is like a burning electrical shock. It will continue to do it at anywhere from 30 to 45 second intervals. My toes are unaffected. If I attempt to touch the top of my foot it is extremely painful in the throbbing area. I am a 50 year old male with a history of lower back surgeries. L4 L5 and L6. I am wondering if it is sciatic nerve related. I am just surprised that it happens so sporadic. The last episode was 11 months ago. I have Neurotin in the medicine cabinet but it would be useless to start a regiment since it usually ends within 12 hours. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Since four o clock this morning I have "been in labor" and it's getting aggravating since it's impossible to sleep
Thanks in advance
Mike
