C3-4 & C4-5 Mild disc ostephyte 60 yr old female

I've had C5-6 and C6-7 fused after suffering much pain. That was in 2008. I began having issues with pain in left shoulder and tingling down arm and wasn't able to turn my head to the left without quite a bit of pain so I went to see my orthopedic doctor since my neurosurgeon moved away. My MRI showed the following:
FINDINGS: Cervical segments maintain appropriate alignment; no abnormal signal intensity present in an intradural or paraspinous position; remianing disc spaces demonstrate mild degenerative dis desiccation; minor disc osteophyte complext at C3-4 and C4-5; visualized portions of the brain stem and spinal cord maintain normal signal intensity.
C2-3-No disc bulge or herniation; canal and foramina widely patent; minor facet arthropathy.
C3-4-Mile disc osteophyte; bilateral facet arthropathy; left foramen demonstrates mile stenosis; right foramen widely patent; no canal stenosis; no disc herniation.
C4-5-Mile disc osteophyte; bilateral facet arthropathy more severe on the left; mild left foraminal stenosis; right foramen patent; no canal stenosis; no disc herniation.
C5-6; C6-7-Postop changes of ACDF, no canal stenosis; foramina are obscured by susceptibility artifact; bilateral face arthropathy.
C7-T1-No signficant dis bulge or herniation; canal and foramina appear widely patent; mild facet arthropathy.
IMPRESSION:
Multilevel degenerative change and postoperative change as discussed above; foraminal stenoses at C3-4 and C4-5 as detailed above; no canal stenosis; no focal herniation; no fracture or alignment abnormality; no destructive process.
Why is my pain so bad when the report doesn't look that bad? I am going to have surgery but after reading the mri report, I'm kind of questioning the surgery.

yeah, my ortho said it does happen and I was afraid of that when I had the first surgery, but I had to have surgery-pain was unbearable.

All I believe is that once you have spinal surgery (especially fusion), that imbalances the spine and puts undue pressure on nearby vertebrae, with the likely enough result that they too will need to be fused at some future point.
