C5-6 disc-motrin enough?

C5-6 disc-motrin enough?

I have numbness intermittently of my little finger on my left hand and 4th finger. Occassional burning of my left shoulder althoug it feels muscular.  Sometimes my little finger feels as if it was pinched. A recent MRI states :  c5-6 disc desication with decreasing disc height . A rigt central disc protrusion is present causing mild compression on the anterior thecal sac.  No central or neural foraminal narrowing at any level. I lift 75 to 80 lbs daily and seem to be more fatigued than usual. What is the significance of this finding? I was told to take some motrin which I have done.
Is this a sufficient recommendation?

Hi,

You have a mild nerve compression in the neck due to disc herniation. Initial treatment includes steroids, muscle relaxants, physical therapy which includes neck stretching and traction by a physiotherapist, alternate heat and ice therapy.
Also you may have to stop your weightlifting and take rest for some time.
I would suggest you to schedule an appointment with your physician because only motrin may not suffice. Take care!

Thank you so very much for the intelligible translation of the Medspeak on the MRI.  I immediately took your advise and am on a solumedrol pack,to be followed by a week of nabumetone 750 mg BID with Pt and traction appt on July 17.  This is still a bit daunting as intermittently I can still not feel these fingers or have a sensation of wanting to get my right should in a different postion- as if I want to pop it into a more confortable spot. The nabumetone sound a bit much as well- I do not take any medicines, don't get headaches or pains that I would need to until now.
