I have a pinched nerveNerve biopsy Nerve conduction velocity at C6/C7. According to what I know from my tests, this would only affect your handsHand or foot spasms Hand tremor and arms, since these are cervical disks. The pain in your legs would be due to a problem (probably) in the lumbarBack pain - low Cerebral spinal fluid (csf) collection Herniated lumbar disk Herniated nucleus pulposus Lumbar puncture (spinal tap) Lumbar spinal surgery - series Lumbar vertebrae Spinal surgery - lumbar Vertebra, lumbar (low back) or lower back region. I have a disk that herniated at L5 and this is my source of pain in my back, hips and legs. Sometimes these disks can cause pain, but not always. They should be investigating this further.
I have found out that we have to find out who can help on our own. I have been told I have back problems and I asked my PCP who could help. He suggested a chiropractor. I won't go that route. So, I made phone calls to neurologists, orthos and any one else who would listen to my symptoms. I am finally getting some help. You may want to look up pain management doctors. There are lots of medical help, you just need to find them. Call and tell them what's going on. If they need a referral, call your PCP and tell them you need one. Unfortunately, too many times we have to take steps ourselves to resolve these problems or get any type of help. As far as the Fibromyalgia, I would go to web sites that are geared specifically to that. There are many helpful sites. I was put on Lyrica, but it didn't help me, plus it was an expensive medecine even with insurance. They have have me on the generic of Neurontin. I would ask your doctor about these medication.
Basically, all in all, you need to research and and do more research. This is a very helpful site. I couldn't have gotten thru the past 8 months without it. Read what others have to say. Ask questions. I wish you luck in finding someone to help you.
