Dear Sir/Madam,
A few weeks ago, I went to my GP on a Thursday. My bloodpressure was 200/120 and I was given medication (Selokeen, a beta-blocker).
On Sunday, I had a typical
CarotidAortic arch syndrome
Atherosclerosis of internal carotid artery
Blockage in internal carotid artery
Carotid artery anatomy
Carotid artery surgery
Carotid artery surgery - series
Carotid duplex
Carotid stenosis, x-ray of the left artery
Carotid stenosis, x-ray of the right artery
Cerebral angiography

Head and neck glands
Herpes zoster (shingles) on the neck and cheek
Irritated seborrheic kerotosis - neck
Lymph tissue in the head and neck.
Melanoma - neck
Neck lump
Neck pain
Neck pulse
Neck x-ray
Oral cancer and crawled up to my

painfulPainful menstrual periods when I brush it.
One week later, I started having difficulty
swallowingPainful swallowing
Swallowing difficulty (residues remain in the back of my mouth) and talking seemed more difficult and nasal (I can pronounce everything).
The hypertension remained high (180/110) and Coversyl (an Ace-slower)was added.
A CT-scan, Thorax, Duplex, MEP, and a MRI/MRA was made of the upper and lower brain and neck. The Duplex and MRI/MRA showed a Carotid Artery Dissection, no medication as yet.
Strangely enough - the MEP showed a significant difference (>10%)of my left leg (I also fell to the left side when I was standing feet together with my eyes closed - but both my feet can feel tickling). My neurologist suggests an MRI of the spinal chord and a lumbar puncture, and feels it may be a coďncidence that we have come across this finding. My mother has MS (not progressive), no other relatives have. The brain/neck MRI did not show signs of MS.
I can't link the hypertension and dysphagia to the CAD. Can dysphagia be part of Horner's and can hypertension be the cause of CAD - or vice-versa? Many thanks,
Marlo Stuart
