CPK (MM,the muscle form)

How can I lower my CPK level? As stated in the subject, I have the
  CPK-MM(muscle form). I received a June 16, l998 response from
CCF NSG MD. He said that the cause of my elevated CPK is unclear.
I believe it was unclear because the information that I provided
was not clear. I did not specifically state the type of CPK as
stated in the subject. My CPK averages from 1500-1600. I have
taken tests from neurologists and other specialists and the
results showed that I didn't have a severe muscle disease.
Based on the test results, my family physician said that I have
inflamed muscles to a certain degree. Since we know it is the CPK
muscle form, can it be lowered. I am experiencing a little muscle
pain and weakness after some aerobic exercise and some lifting.
  PLEASE RESPOND.
  THANKS,
  GUY

Dear Guy,
Your physician may consider a trial of oral steroids as discussed in response
to your previously posted question.  It sounds like it is indeed the muscle
fraction of CK that is elevated.  Speak to your physician and see if he or she
thinks this is a reasonable option.
Good luck.
