CSF Leak and TBI

by lori613, Apr 06, 2009 04:11PM
My daughter was diagnosed with a mild - moderate tbi almost 5 years ago.  She has many issues and we have tried to address each and every one, however since that time she has tried to get doctors to listen to her with regard to the crackling she hears and the pink/clear fluid that is in her ear. (it used to be red/brown/clear).  We just went to a neurotologist who said that it would only be coming from her ear if indeed it was a CSF leak, but upon doing my own research I now know this to be NOT true.  Was this the right kind of doctor?  What should be the test done to diagnose this?  Also, if she had a skull fracture then that went undiagnosed would it still show up on a CT scan or MRI.  She only had MRI's of her brain done.  Never her skull.  Thank you.
