CTS and shoulder pain

I have been suffering from excruciating burning from the top of my shoulders down to the tips of my fingers. My hands and fingers will swell to the point that I can't begin to make a fist. I was recently diagnosed with acute CTS bilaterally and was told I could possibly have pain running up to my shoulders with the CTS.  I was also found to have bulging discs in the area of C-6 and C-7. Is it possible that the CTS is the basis for the burning in the shoulders or do you think there is a two-fold problem going on? I have read about "Double Crush Syndrome" and wonder if anyone has been diagnosed with this and if your symptoms were similar to what I have described.
