Calf dancing, aka crazy permanant muscle spasm

Hello Community.

I am a 46 yr old male, health and fit 83kilos, no smoker, casual drinker. over the last three years I have developed an almost mystical permanent calf spasm problem, when I say spasm I mean all the muscle fibers contort seemingly in marvelous ways you wouldn't think possible but without pain, the spasm are so strong it's like the calf's is dancing particularly after some vigorous exercises like jogging. These spasms only appear to be below the knees and at this time don't cause any discomfort. However I would like to know if anyone has a clue on what causes this, how to stop it and whether it'll spread further.

Any advice would be very appreciated.

Might be restless legs syndrome, there is some info under sleep disorders at this website, I think, and also there are a bunch of websites online about the syndrome.  Usually it starts in the right calf, and will move to the left, the muscles jump around, and it can be painful when the muscles pull real hard, and it can also goof up your sleep, which is where the misnomer of sleep disorder comes from.  It is made worse by vigorous exercise and as soon as you sit or lay down to rest or watch TV or sleep, the calf starts up with its thing.  If this sounds like you, look into RLS.  I have it, and I take medication for it, there are several categories, some work for some, and others for others.
