I had my eyes tested two weeks ago just to see how drastically they have changed. My changes are so slight, that it doesn't even warrant getting a new prescription. Then, he dialated the pupils. Talk about feeling helpless. I couldn't see and when I can't see where my feet are going, it was well, interesting.
OK, I am going to research more on autonomic systems. This could explain a lot of annoying changes. Thank you.
I was also just recently diagnosed with peripheral neuropathy after years of BS from doctors. My neuropathy presents with more autonomic symptoms, as opposed to pain. Reading your profile it seems yours is the other way around. Yes, vision and hearing can change because of neuropathy. Pupil dilation/focusing are functions of the autonomic system. I'm going next week to have my eyes checked out. My hearing is still "normal", but it used to be exceptional. I sometimes can see just fine out of one eye or the other, but can't focus when I look out of both together. It's so random when it happens though, and I'll probably be just fine when I see the ophthamologist!
