Can old subdural hygroma cause problems

I was wondering i have a doctor saying they think almost positve i have subdural hygroma. Not from injury but born with it, so its old. the fluid is from skull to brain and a another doctor thinks cerebral atrophy. He is taking a CSF flow MRI to see if there is a block he dosn't think there will be one.

My qustion is can subdural hygroma from birth cause mild to moderate cerebral atrophy.

Also can subdural hygroma cause problem off and on throught the years nothing and some years problem. I have been having problems with balance, speech, weekness, headach, feeling of skin and other things. Can a old Subdural hygroma or one you born with cause problems. latter in life. It has been stable but then little there has been little fluid change but not much. The fluid is in the is all over thats why one doctors said cerebral atrophy. Most fluid is in the back around and above cerebellum. The brain in the back from top to bottom looks cut my mom is worried cause it looks diffrent sence i was six. Not from brain injury that my old pediatrician can remember  or my mom. No sign of infection my old doctor can remember.

So can a old or subdural hygroma your born with affect you latter?
Can it cause brain problems?
Is there a test to know if it is changing or effecting you?
Is there treatment for subdural hygroma?
What can cause it?

sorry doctors either say diffrent things or never agree or say somthing way difrent there. Any help would be great and healpful.

Hi! I too have debilitating, progressive symptoms with age and a head trauma. You can see a specialist to perform pro-lo therapy and draining. I've learned it's very important to keep them empty becuz as they fill, they do cause pressure to the part of the brain they are swelling over, which is why different and on/off symptoms at any given, unpredictable times.
Although it could be life long, concensus is have them taken care! :)
