Can someone please tell me what this means

TECHNIQUE: Sagittal T1, sagittal T2, sagittal STIR, axial T1 and
axial T2-weighted images were obtained of the lumbar spine.
FINDINGS: For counting purposes, the last lumbarized vertebral
bodies L5. Alignment is anatomic. Vertebral body heights are
maintained. Marrow signal is within normal limits. L5 there is
redemonstration of degenerative disc height loss with small
peripheral annular fissure. The previously noted central disc
protrusion has decreased. There is minimal encroachment left
subarticular recess without severe central stenosis. There is
mild bilateral neural foraminal encroachment.
The conus is at L1 and is unremarkable. Paravertebral soft
tissues are unremarkable. Vertebral body heights are maintained.
Marrow signal is within normal limits. The remainder the
intervertebral discs the lumbar spine are within normal limits.
Impression:
1. Mild degenerative signal at L4-L5 with small peripheral
annular fissure, minimal central disc protrusion with slight
encroachment left subarticular recess. This has decreased since
prior examination 3/13/2016. Mild bilateral neural foraminal
narrowing is noted.
