I wrote to you before about needle-like pains in my thighs, and you said it sounded like
SensoryNumbness and tingling Neuropathy. I am taking
Neurontin, and it helps some. My neurologist has recommended I have an EMG (I had one about a year ago which showed no permanent
nerveNerve biopsy
Nerve conduction velocity damage). Since then I have had two back operations, but still have the problem with my legs. Do you think another EMG will tell me anything new and do you think it's worthwhile?

I do not have all the facts available, unlike the physician who is ordering the test so I would be relctant to contradict someone who has access to a great deal more information than I have.
You have every right to ask the neurologict what exactly he/she expects to learn from this latest test, before you submit yourself to the cost and discomfort of another EMG.
I would also ask if it would be possible to do a qualitative
sensoryNumbness and tingling test
( QST )as part of this EMG as this type of
sensoryNumbness and tingling test gives more information about
sensoryNumbness and tingling neuropathy than the standard EMG ?
