Can you share your experience about burning sensation?

My sister is having burning sensation all over the body more so in hands and feet including vulva.preliminary and other neuro testing suggested mild peripheral neuropathy and ANCAc and ANA were positive. however no skin lesion/lung/joint symptom.ESR was normal.Later in 1-2 days ANA, and ANCA were negative from the same lab and another reputed lab.all vitamins were normal except vitD which was low and weekly mega doses were given.but no improvement. she takes all B complex vitamins.can anyone suggest right line of investigations?

Hi,
I am 47 y/o female and started with burning skin on my thigh many years ago.  The past 4 years it has progressed to constant ringing in ears, and burning skin pain on face, upper arms and neck.  I also have pain in my fingers and toes, like I've been out in the cold.  I've seen 3 neurologists with no definate answer yet.  In all fairness, I haven't seen one for a couple of years and things have gotten worse.  so far, mri brain, ana, b12 sed rate and other bloodwork normal.  I started taking vitamings and stopped drinking nutrasweet-with no luck as of yet.  I am going to see the neurologist again the end of this month. I've heard there is a simple procedure called a punch biopsy of the skin as a test for certain types of neuropath.  I will ask him about this.

I wish your sister the best of luck.  I also get cold sores frequently and take valtrex.  I don't know if it is related at all-like some kind of an immune response.

take care
