Carotid Artery problem? I'm 18 years old..

by Ayleen44, Dec 11, 2008 03:54PM

I've been to the hospital about 2 times already.
I have dizzy spells, I am always lightheaded & I feel pressure behind my ears where my carotid artery is supposed to be.
They told me everything was fine.

I recently got a CT scan & my doctor said everything looked normal.
Do they show the carotid artery in the CT scans?
I am really worried this has been going on for more than a month already!
I am always lightheaded and the dizzy spells are awful! This all worsens when I lay down...and I get sharp pains in my head
could anyone please help??

When I lay down I hear a swoosh swoosh noise along with my heartbeat...

I know I am young but I have high cholesterol & I am overweight...so this could contribute.
I have a history of anxiety attacks but this is nothing like that!
