Cat Scan results?

I have been a sufferer of PN for 5 years now. Following surgery from a ruptured append. I had to have another surgery to close up drainage hole which was in for 6 months. The last time I had a CT Scan, the technician
asked me if I ever had a hernia? Could the pain be also from a hernia? and not just PN? I take 150mg elavil at bedtime. My pain is from the groin area to the right thigh. sometimes I have sharp spiking
pain. Does this sound like a hernia? and the pain from one? Could this be both? Many thanks for your response. MBL

there is not enough information here to give a definite answer but this does not sound like PN, it is not " peripheral" enough. Peripheral neuropathy typically starts at the toes and advances upwards. You could possible have some degree of entrapment of the lateral cutsaneous nerve of
the thigh which exits the abdomen near wghwere hernias often occurr to supply the front of the thigh.
Another possibility is that you simply have referred pain from a hernia.
I suggest that you should have a neurologis ***** this situation as there are a number of possible explanations which cannot be teased out by means of messages here alone.
